Family Bike Rides

We understand that parents also want somewhere to take the kids and have a good ride out. Routes that aren't tasking and allow the youngsters to enjoy themselves whilst learning the ropes.

Each of our listed areas has easy routes, but we've also gathered a selection here that we think will be just the ticket. Short and comfortable rides with good places to stop off and have a bite to eat.

A trip around Malham Tarn, riding the Yorkshire water road at Scar House in Nidderdale, or along the bridleway between Pen Hill and West Burton.  Each of these routes has been enjoyed by own little fella, closely followed by tea and cake nearby.

This list should give you something to go at with the youngsters.

One of the great recent developments is the new centre at Sutton Bank. They've created a super little skills track, and some natural trails for all the family: a short green trail, a harder blue trail to test the young XC addicts, and a red route that should be fully open soon.

Gisburn Forest near Settle continues to expand, and is always worth a visit.
