Northumberland & the North Pennines MTB Routes

England's last great wilderness

Whether you're riding up to the border ridge between England and Scotland, or dashing through Kielder Forest on sublime singletrack, Northumberland has vast tracts of land to explore. It really is the last wilderness in England. A trip out from Wooler, taking in the Langlee Crags is an epic on the legs, but is sublime on the return.

Road routes around Middleton in Teesdale and the North Pennines need legs of steel. The tight twisting lanes and endless climbs are fantastic. Those of you who have done the Coast and Castles route will know the nature of the riding and the views, which cannot be beaten. There are some great pubs too!

Kielder is also now linked to the 7 Stanes project by an epic 33km trail aptly named 'the Bloody Bush trail.' So now you don't even have to drive so far...you can pedalnorth instead!

We'll be developing this section over the next few months. Join us as we do so, and ride off into the wilderness  along some of England's finest cycling routes.
