Where to eat - Cafe Ciao

Those in the know from cycling days gone by will remember 'Dunnies' at Otley. A great stop where real food and plenty of it was served up. I certainly partook of their fine fare once or twice. Dunnies had been a popular riverside cafe in Otley since 1925, and its closure has saddened many in the town. What fantastic news then that members of the family that ran Dunnies for so long have opened up a new eatery at nearby Guiseley - and it's getting great comments from local cyclists.

Corrie Foster has joined  sisters Katie and Lindsey Davies in her independent Italian coffee shop, Ciao!,Her daughter, Sacha, and niece, Natasha, will also be working part-time at the newly renovated cafe on Otley Road, which stands next to Coopers Bar and Brasserie. The food is all made with fresh ingredients, with a great Italian menu from Pizza al taglio to their luxurious fresh Cannoli Siciliana, and washed down with superb coffee, loose leaf teas, gourmet hot chocolates, luxurious ice cream frappes, retro Italian cream sodas, fruit juices and mineral waters to cater for all tastes.

Get yourselves along to Guiseley during your rides out from Leeds and Bradford and beyond. They even open in the evenings until 8pm. A full review will follow soon - once we've tasted the evening menu for ourselves.
